Our Story: Replay Sports in Groton, CT
Replay Sports started out in 1992 in a small 1000 square foot storefront in
the Lighthouse Square Plaza in Groton and has grown into its present 6000 square
foot site in the same plaza. Specializing in both pre-owned and new sporting
goods, this busy store helps sports enthusiasts both young and old, by providing
a friendly and knowledgeable sales staff and a huge selection at prices that
are hard to beat.
Owner Frank Lotti’s original idea to get into this unique business came from a friend. They had three boys and told him about how much stuff they had accumulated over the years. Knowing how tough it was for parents to spend money each season on a growing child when they already have a closet full of equipment that has been gathering dust, the idea of consignment sales and trade-ins seemed like a winner.
The basic business of Replay Sports is to provide a place where customers
can bring their quality pre-owned equipment to for sale on a consignment basis,
trade it on other sporting equipment, or sell it outright to the store. Over
the years they have accumulated a vast selection of merchandise from baseball
to snowboards, golf clubs to lacrosse equipment, bicycles, skis, and tennis
racquets to weight training and cardio equipment. You can trade in your equipment
for NEW or next-to-new-condition equipment.
Replay Sports caters to anyone, any age, at any level of fitness or sports participation. The equipment ranges from sophisticated weight equipment to traditional sports supplies like skis, inline skates, golfing supplies, bat, gloves, etc. With the demand for sporting goods being so great, new lines keep being added each year.
The two biggest
misconceptions are that we only sell pre-owned items and since we do have pre-owned
equipment, you will see “junk” piled up. Not True!
You will find an organized, attractive displayed layout and quality name brand new equipment along with the pre-owned items. You can come in at any time of the year to find equipment for all seasons.
The store is open 7 days a week and every time you visit the store you are more than likely to see something different even if your last visit was just a short time before.
